Spinal Decompression Therapy Using the Antalgic-Trak™

Spinal Decompression is a nonsurgical, noninvasive, drug-free treatment method for disc-related syndromes of the lumbar and cervical spine. At Atlanta Total Wellness, many people have found relief from the pain associated with

  • Herniated discs
  • Bulging discs
  • Posterior facet syndrome
  • Degenerative disc disease
  • Spinal stenosis
  • Pinched nerves

…and many other spinal disorders.

Spinal Disc Decompression uses computer-aided technology to apply gentle, nonsurgical decompression to your spine. The resulting increased circulation & flow of nutrients into the spinal discs and joints helps to relieve pain, remove inflammatory and toxic biochemicals from the area, and restore function and mobility.

At Atlanta Total Wellness, we use the exclusive Antalgic-Trak™, with Sequential Spinal Elongation Therapy®, is a new and specialized non-surgical spine treatment system developed for disc injuries, vertebral joint pain and arthritis. Antalgic-Trak™ is the world’s 1st and only “Range-of-Motion”, “Sequential Spinal Elongation” non-surgical treatment system. Indications for use include back or neck pain, herniated and bulging discs, spinal arthritis, spinal nerve root syndromes, numbness, pins and needles, surgical failures and other spine related syndromes.

How Spinal Disc Decompression Works

Spinal Disc Decompression – an FDA-cleared technology – relieves pain by enlarging the space between spinal discs. Spinal Disc Decompression exerts negative pressure which relieves compression on discs and nerves, allowing the herniated and bulging discs to eventually return to their normal positions, according to studies performed by Vax-D.

Spinal Disc Decompression is the only non-surgical, non-invasive treatment that is most effective for many severe cases of disc herniation, disc degeneration, arthritis, spinal stenosis, and pressure on the nerve root. A clinical study performed by the Orthopedic Technology Review in 2004 demonstrated spinal pain relief in many cases of disc compression.

The Spinal Disc

The spinal disc – composed of soft cartilaginous material – separates the spinal vertebra and acts as a shock absorber. Each disc contains a gel-like center called the nucleus and has a fibrous outer covering called the annulus. The blood supply to spinal discs is normally sparse, so if a disc is injured it may continue to degenerate and not heal properly. Spinal Disc Decompression provides the important therapeutic benefit of increasing the height of the disc space, providing more room for the disc and allowing it to return to normal size and function.

Spinal Disc Decompression also causes the disc to heal by stimulating regeneration of the disc cartilage. Spinal Disc Decompression increases circulation & flow of nutrients to the disc, providing important nutrients which facilitate the healing response.

Spinal Disc Decompression at Atlanta Total Wellness

To pre-qualify a patient and ensure that Spinal Disc Decompression will be beneficial, Dr. Dmitry Sereda – an Atlanta Chiropractor – will take a complete history, perform a physical examination, and review all data, including MRIs.

About the Antalgic-Trak™

Antalgic-Trak™ has revolutionized the field of Non-Surgical Neck and Low Back Disc Decompression Therapy. Antalgic-Trak™ is used in the treatment of herniated, ruptured, degenerated and bulging discs. Antalgic-Trak™ is the ONLY decompression device that offers full range of motion disc decompression. Other devices such as the VAX-D Table, DRX9000, the DRS System, the Alpha-Spinal System and the Lorded Lumbar Spine System will only decompress or distract in a linear or north / south direction. In addition, unlike most of these other devices which only treat the low back, Antalgic-Trak™ treats both the neck and the low back.

Articulating Spinal Disc Decompression is a proven treatment for the relief of lower back pain. With a significant success rate, thousands of patients have experienced dramatic pain relief and healing. Articulating Spinal Disc Decompression is an innovative approach for the relief of lower back syndromes, including: • Herniated or bulging discs • Degenerative disc disease • Posterior facet syndrome • Acute or chronic back pain • Sciatica. Articulating Spinal Disc Decompression is non-surgical, non-invasive, and typically does not involve pain medications. The treatment is not only safe and painless, but also comfortable and relaxing. The course of therapy includes approximately 20 treatment sessions and is completed in about 35 days. Each procedure is performed with a unique, patent pending Antalgic-Trak™ device and is performed by a certified clinician, specializing in back pain care. The treatment sessions are brief, lasting approximately 45 minutes, followed by supportive therapy & spinal alignment.

Just as TV evolved from black & white to color, Antalgic-Trak evolved “basic decompression” into “articulating decompression” with the addition of specially engineered, multi-axis adjustable sections. These adjustable sections enable the spine to be rehabilitated in a variety of postures. Only the Antalgic-Trak can do this.
